This week I have been feeling totally overwhelmed, the weight of what we are experiencing has really started to affect me and I am struggling. I am a trained professional in dealing with mental health issues and feelings such as anxiety, stress and overwhelm but that doesn’t mean I have it together at all times. I, like all of us, have days/weeks where nothing feels right, I can’t focus, I can’t seem to get anything done and I seem to spend most of my time feeling guilty for not succeeding in any of the multitude of things that I have to juggle.

January was the worst time of year for me, after all the excessive drinking and eating over the Christmas period and the emotional energy needed to navigate all the social functions and celebrations, the months January through to March would stretch ahead of me like one long dark tunnel. I had to really dig deep and get through the first part of the year before things started to improve as the days got longer and Spring began to appear.
